The fastest way to beat the sun
There is no faster way to deal with excess sun than internal blinds. The internal blinds offered by MS Holland Kozijnen can be installed in an invasive or non-invasive way, so that each customer can choose how to install the blinds depending on their capabilities and preferences. As soon as the sun starts to shine too brightly, all you have to do is make the decision to buy blackout blinds, and soon after you can enjoy their full functionality.
Use two fabrics at once
A wide selection of fabric blinds means not only the possibility of choosing the most beautiful solution in the eyes of the customer. Now you can combine two different materials in one blind. Do you need an internal blackout blind, but sometimes you just need a little privacy without blackout? Nothing could be simpler. In a duo blind, there are two independently operated materials: one can be strongly blackout, and the other can be light and let a lot of sun through.
The color of the blinds prepared for you
Window blinds can be really exciting additions to your windows. Especially since choosing fabric blinds means accessing a rich and diverse world of materials used to create this useful element of home decor. You can choose from very light and fully blackout fabrics. There are different colors and material structures to choose from. You will find the right solution for you, regardless of the style of your windows and interiors.
Pleated interior blinds fit all windows
A point of honor for a professional roller blind manufacturer is that every customer can find a solution for themselves. And it's not just about matching colors. It's important that they fit every window. MS Holland Kozijnen achieves this by offering modern pleated interior roller blinds, which can take on very different shapes. They work well on triangular windows, can be placed on round windows and are not afraid of roof windows.
How do interior blinds work?
Internal fabric blinds are a product that is brilliant in its simplicity. A sheet of fabric hung on a window obscures its light, which stops the sun trying to get inside. In this way, we manage to reduce the amount of heat that gets inside, and we are also able to limit the interior lighting, which is also important for comfort.
The practical possibilities that interior blinds offer us depend on many different factors. These include the way they are fitted to the windows, the way in which the material that the window covers is controlled, and what the material is made of. Let's start from the beginning.
How to install interior fabric blinds
There are two basic ways in which interior window blinds can be mounted on a window:
non-invasive installation on the window,
invasive installation to the glazing bead.
The first of these options are the so-called free-hanging interior blinds, although this term is also often used in relation to blinds whose fabrics hang haphazardly without any guides or other elements that would hold them in a specific place.
Such installation is especially beneficial when we do not want to leave permanent traces in the window structure at all costs. In such a case, we will use special hooks that are hung on the window frame. The roller blind is held in place by its own weight. It can be easily and quickly removed and reinstalled. However, it will be less stable than roller blinds that are permanently installed.
The installation of fabric blinds in the invasive approach is done to the glazing bead. Modern internal blinds are usually those that are attached to the glazing bead. This approach makes the blind move in the light of the window, not in front of it. This solution is more aesthetic, safer and allows, at least theoretically, for more effective protection against excess light.
Sun blinds and blackout blinds
It can be said that every internal window blind is a sun blind, although there are also such fabric internal blinds whose ability to block light is really minimal. They are mainly installed to slightly scatter light and also serve as a decorative element. In the case of internal blinds of this type, the most important thing is the color of the blinds.
The color of the blinds is of course always important, but not as much as you might expect. It is not the deciding factor whether our interior blinds are blackout blinds or just sun blinds . In practice, the finish of the material and its structure are much more important.
If you are interested in blackout blinds, you should choose blinds that have some mechanism for blocking the sun. Most often, this is rubberizing, i.e. covering one of the material surfaces with a substance that does not let light through. Aluminum coatings that reflect light are also used more and more often.
Day and night blinds
The issue of internal day and night blinds is a separate topic. Day and night blinds consist of strips of material with different light transmittance , thanks to which the appropriate setting of such strips makes it possible to obtain almost complete blackout or semi-transparency of the blind.
This is a very convenient and relatively cheap solution, but in a sense it is also an indirect one, because it does not really allow for complete darkening of the room.
What are pleated blinds?
An increasingly common internal window blind is a pleated blind . These types of internal blinds are primarily characterized by the fact that they are equipped with pleated material. There is no shortage of people who will not be interested in the offer of blinds at all if there are no pleated blinds among them.
Pleated fabric is a type of fabric that is folded into regular folds. For window coverings, this is an ideal solution because it allows for two very important issues:
use in atypical windows,
use even on very large windows.
In both cases, it is possible to look for other solutions, but no other fabric interior blinds will work as well in this respect.
A wide range of colours to choose from
A modern internal window blind can be an element that significantly improves the attractiveness of the arrangement. The color of the blinds will help us create beautiful interiors:
the color of the inside of the material,
the color of the outside of the material,
color of construction elements
and the texture of the material itself.
There are many possibilities in both matters, i.e. when it comes to choosing fabric blinds in relation to their materials and in relation to their profiles. Internal window blinds have a rich colour scheme. Sometimes manufacturers limit themselves to a small number of basic colours of their materials, but more often the choice is huge and you can choose the shade very precisely.
Interior fabric blinds like honeycombs
Pleating the blind material offers many unique possibilities. One of them is creating a window covering that will have a honeycomb structure.
What's so special about it? This solution, in its usability, is somewhat reminiscent of chambers that appear in windows. In PVC joinery, the purpose of chambers is to limit heat transfer through profiles. Empty spaces are much better insulators than solid materials. It's similar in the case of roller shutters.
This type of material can be used anywhere, but is especially recommended for roof windows. It effectively limits the amount of heat that gets inside thanks to the air cushion that is created directly by the window.
The effect can be further improved by using the fact that pleated blinds can have different material finishes on the inside and outside. In the case of fabric arranged in a honeycomb, another surface is created, which can be protected, for example, with an aluminum insert. This is the inside of the honeycomb cell.
Material protected in this way more effectively blocks the passage of heat into the interior and, to a lesser extent, limits its escape through the window in winter.
Duo solutions, i.e. 2 in 1 window blinds
A very interesting idea for modern interior blinds are also the so-called duo blinds, e.g. the Vegas Plisse Duo blind. They can be used in almost all types of windows. These are:
PVC windows,
wooden windows,
aluminum windows.
The exception here are
steel windows,
which are specific.
Choosing this type of internal blinds means that in practice we get two different blinds on one window: one blind is in the upper part of the window, the other is in the lower part. They can be completely independent of each other, but they can also be connected by one central profile.
The simplest solution assumes that these will be two basically identical blinds. They can then differ in color or, if they are fully independent blinds, leave an empty space on the window between them. However, we can go much further and have two completely different blinds with definitely different properties.
The idea for such an extremely different application is to use one roller blind with high transparency and another roller blind equipped with blackout material. We fold one roller blind and unroll the other – the room becomes dark. We unroll the first one and roll up the second one, and the effect is a slightly diffused light in the color of the roller blind material.
It is not without significance here that the pleating of the material gives us greater possibilities. The material folds easily, making manipulating the blind easy even on large windows and the fabric does not have to be rolled up.
Internal or external blinds?
MS Holland Kozijnen has a wide range of roller blinds. The choice of window blinds is by no means limited to roller blinds installed indoors. This roller blind manufacturer also offers outdoor solutions. Therefore, the natural question arises, is it not better to use an outdoor solution? Here we have the choice:
adaptive blinds,
top mounted roller shutters,
concealed roller blinds,
screen blinds,
lintel blinds.
Additionally, there are blinds mounted on the outside of the window:
lintel blinds,
top mounted blinds.
What to choose from this wide range of possibilities? It depends on many factors.
Internal blinds will work everywhere and always. External blinds too, if only their type is chosen correctly. Modern external products can also be conveniently operated with a remote control or even using a smart home system. This is almost as convenient and effective as regular manual operation, which is the way internal blinds are controlled.
The basic difference is the difficulty of assembly and the cost of the entire investment. If we are just building a house, it is good to think through the process systematically and, for example, use lintel or only adaptive solutions, which also work well on finished buildings. They can provide them with greater functionality, offering, for example, additional security for the window against burglars, but also heat loss or mechanical damage.
If our needs are here and now, and we are not planning any major renovations in the near future, the choice is made by itself – Vegas Plisse or related products. MS Holland Kozijnen has something for everyone.
